By Football Italian staffThe Serie A side is the only team to have won the Champions Leagues twice in a row, and they will go into the competition with a very good record against England.
The last time they faced England was at the 2011 World Cup and they have gone into this competition unbeaten in five games.
This time they will be without one of their most valuable players, Andrea Pirlo, who is currently out with a knee injury.
The former captain, who was captain for eight seasons between 1999 and 2003, will be missing from the squad for the first leg against Italy because of the knee injury, which is expected to sideline him for at least a month.
This season, the Italian side have gone unbeaten in three games against England, with three draws, one defeat and two draws.
Their only loss in the competition was a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium in March.
Pirlo scored his first goal of the season in Italy’s 3-1 win at the Stadio Olimpico against England in October.
The forward has been a key member of the squad, scoring four goals in all competitions.
The squad also includes Andrea Barzagli, who scored against the English in the Europa League last season, and Diego Forlan, who netted a hat-trick against the Americans in the World Cup.
This will be a difficult match, as both teams are currently ranked outside the top three in Serie A. Pirlos and Barzaglsi will be key players, but it will be interesting to see how Italy respond.
