New hardware from Apple is set to make its debut on Apple TV, as the tech giant unveils the company’s latest offering in the space.
The new Apple TV set-top box, codenamed the Apple TV4, is the first product in the Apple ecosystem to support 4K content, and it will also include support for Apple’s new AirPlay, Apple’s forthcoming virtual reality, and other streaming technologies.
While it won’t support Apple’s latest streaming technology, the AppleTV4 will also feature a new remote control with an 8-inch touchscreen, as well as a Bluetooth 4.0 wireless charging station.
The Apple TV 4 will cost $129 when it launches in June.
Apple’s Apple TV platform is now available on Apple TVs in more than 80 countries.
The company is expected to release the new AppleTV in August.
Apple is also expected to announce a new Apple Pay mobile payment platform, and Apple is expected, at some point, to introduce a new Mac, as a way to further diversify the company and its hardware offerings.
The iPad Pro and iPad mini 3 are the only new devices in the latest lineup.
The device is the latest to join the Apple family of devices, including the iPad Air, the iPad mini, and the Apple Watch Series 3, which is the companys most recent release.
