Emtek has announced that its cabinet hardware business will be officially renamed to “The Future of your Kitchen Hardware” in the first quarter of 2018, following a merger with a software developer.
Emtek’s first hardware product, the Emtek E9x, is expected to debut at CES this year, along with the first Emtek hardware products in the form of the Emek 6 and E9+.
The Emtek 6 will feature a built-in touchscreen display with the Emcky 7 keyboard and a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, while the E9+ will include an additional Bluetooth keyboard with a USB 3.0 port.
“As our focus moves towards the IoT space, we are focusing on hardware to help businesses meet the evolving needs of the connected home, both in terms of the hardware itself, but also with the software that is being built to support it,” said John Mayer, CEO and founder of Emtek.
“The Emtek family is built on a number of decades of experience with the home automation and control solutions.
With the Emilkys focus on delivering solutions that support the IoT in the home, it makes sense to move our focus to hardware.
We are excited to continue this focus on building a better home experience for our customers.”
The Emilkies hardware is being produced at their factory in San Diego, California, which was acquired in 2017 by a Chinese investment group, and is expected be shipped to customers in the coming months.
“We’re very proud to be a part of the ecosystem and our future in hardware, both for our own customers and for our partner partners,” said Mayer.
“For the first time, Emilky will be providing hardware to customers through our partners in the marketplace, which will further enhance the Emkio ecosystem and make our products more accessible to new and existing customers.”
Our customers are also looking forward to getting their hands on our new hardware products, which should be available by the end of the year,” Mayer added.
